Why Your Import Deserves an Import Specialist

Why Your Import Deserves an Import Specialist

3 min readBy Foreign Auto Center

A lot of shops will happily take your BMW or Mercedes and do their best. The trouble is that "their best" on a German car often means generic oil, a code reader that only sees half the story, and a few guesses about what the warning light means. On an import, those shortcuts cost you.

Different fluids, different specs

Most European engines call for a specific full-synthetic oil with a manufacturer approval rating, not whatever is on sale. The wrong viscosity or a generic blend can cause sludge and accelerated wear over time. Coolant and transmission fluid are the same story: use the wrong type and you can quietly damage the system you were trying to maintain.

The codes a cheap scanner never sees

A basic code reader pulls generic engine codes and nothing else. Your import has a dozen control modules talking to each other, and a single problem can light up several of them at once. Without a tool that reads every module, you end up replacing parts that were never the issue.

Done right the first time

We work on imports every day, so we know the quirks of each make and carry the correct parts and fluids. That means a straight diagnosis, an upfront price, and a repair that holds up. Bring your import in, or ask us to come to you.
